Frankie swallowed hard and looked up at his dad who was snorting and puffing like an angry walrus. Then he closed his eyes tight and imagined the silliest pair of underpants he could possibly think of.

‘What the blazes?!’ Frankie opened one eye and saw that Mr Blewitt had a lovely big pair of spotty underpants, wedged right down over his eyes. ‘What the devil is going on?’ he shouted, tugging at the elastic. But they wouldn’t budge. Frankie felt a surge of laughter welling up in his belly, ‘I suppose you think this is funny?’ yelled Mr Blewitt, swiping the air blindly with his newspaper. ‘You just wait till I—’ Suddenly, Mr Blewitt’s arm halted in mid-air. It looked like the newspaper had ideas of its own. It wriggled out of Mr Blewitt’s grasp, twisted itself around and delivered a solid blow to his backside.
